Revolution Gold or Honey Myrtle is a striking large shrub or small evergreen tree famed for her exciting golden foliage; the leaves are a creamy lemon in cooler months, maturing into a robust gold during the warmer seasons. Creamy white, fluffy flowers bloom in summer.
Growing 2-5 metres, Honey Myrtle is perfect for hedging, screening, low maintenance, contrast, fast-growing, cut foliage, specimen planting and windbreaks. The foliage is popular for floral arrangements due to beautiful colouring and effective texture, while the tree itself is hardy and ideal for hard to grow areas in the garden. Attractive to birds and insects, this vigorous grower is quick to establish and wonderful for use as a fast growing windbreak or screen.
Sensitive to frost, hardy to all other elements. Most well drained soils. Full sun or part shade. Attractive to birds & insects.
This is a type of Australian "Bush Tucker". The flowers of Melaleuca varieties produce sweet nectar and you can suck the nectar out, or soak the flowers in water to make a sweet drink, but this plant is not edible.
