Common Name: Great Balls of Fire Callistemon, Great Balls of Fire Bottlebrush
Availabilty: Out of Stock ENQUIRE NOW
The Great Balls of Fire is an evergreen with striking hot pink and red tipped foliage. Bright red bottlebrush flowers bloom infrequently throughout the warmer months, which are highly attractive to local wildlife. But its the foliage that is the real attraction on this beauty, the stunning splashes of bright colour creating quite the show-stopper.
Growing 1 - 3 metres, this fast grower is hardy to most environments, humidity tolerant and low maintenance. Perfect for large borders or hedges, with a non-invasive root system making it an ideal plant near buildings or walkways. A popular bonsai, street tree or shrub, the Great Balls of Fire is also pollution tolerant, and drought tolerant once established. Use as a bonsai
This variety is unusual for a Callistemon in that it is happy with wet feet and can thrive in swampy environments. We recommend an occasional trim to maintain a thick growth habit, and she can be hedged to beautiful effect.
Reasonably frost & wind tolerant. Hardy to dry conditions. Most well drained soils. Tolerates sandy or moist bases, but prefers well draining. Full sun to light shade. Attractive to birds and insects
