Common Name: Green Island Fig
Availabilty: In Stock
The Ficus Green Island is a luscious evergreen beauty that has an abundance of glossy green rounded foliage, creating quite the show-stopping addition. Most commonly used for hedging, boarders, bonsais, tub planting, or as an indoor feature plant, this sweet Ficus is very versatile and adaptable.
This tropical guy thrives in humidity, but is pretty easy-going and can adapt to less humid conditions. A slow grower compared to it’s other Ficus cousins, the Green Island can reach up to 1 metres in height and approx. 1.5m wide.
They like a moist soil base, but dislike wet feet. Watering once a week should be adequate as they are quite happy drying out a little between waterings. Ficus are traditionally known to have aggressive root systems, however the Green Island variety is much smaller so this is not an issue (yay!). This sweet guy is a striking and versatile option for your garden or indoor space!
Low maintenance. Humidity hardy. Moderately tolerant of wind & frost. Well drained soils. Bright filtered indoor light. Full sun outdoors, tolerates bright part shade.
You are buying beautiful, happy, sun-hardened (excepting indoor varieties) tubestock with root systems. Tubestock is the youngest plant you can buy, which keeps it affordable (so you can buy more plants *wink*). Please note our infographic included in every plant listing for an indication of sizing. Pictures are examples only, and your stock may be larger or smaller than what is shown.
