Common Name: Purple Waffle Plant

The Purple Waffle Plant is a unique perennial that is as sweet as the Waffles that are her namesake. Unique crinkled foliage in deep greens and deep purple tones that create gorgeous contrast in your garden have an attractive waffle-texture, while in summer dainty white flowers will bloom. Being a perennial, she will die back in the cooler months, but return with a bang as soon as it warms up again.

This robust groundcover is brilliant for preventing erosion and prized for tropical landscaping. Being a shade lover, with a maximum height of around 200 mm and a spread of around 400 - 650 mm, she is ideal for underplanting larger plants or as an effective groundcover. Utilise her bordering walkways, container planting, rock gardens gorgeous colour contrast, mixed beds, underplanting, those hard-to-grow shady areas or even indoors in filtered indoor light.

Many even pop her in a terrarium for stunning colour contrast. And did we mention that she's low-maintenance? The wins keep coming! For this little humidity-lover, we recommend plenty of shade, protection from frost and wind, free draining soil and regular watering to see her best efforts.
