Common Name: New Zealand Tea Tree
Availabilty: In Stock
Leptospermum scoparium Burgundy Queen, or the New Zealand Tea Tree as it can be more commonly known, is a hugely popular evergreen garden addition, and one of our personal favourites here at Divine. Stunning double-burgundy-red flowers with dark centres bloom through late winter into the summer months, with additional sporadic flowering throughout the year.
Growing 1.5 - 3 metres tall, it is ideal planted out in rockeries, for added contrast or colour, bushscapes, light screening and specimen planting. Being drought, wind and frost resistant, the unique burgundy-grey tinged foliage is ideal for layering or shielding more sensitive plants from the environment. Did we mention she's also highly attractive to native bees and wildlife?
Frost, drought, salt & wind hardy. Most well drained soils, hardy in arid-wet. Full sun preferred, adapts to part shade.
