Common Name: Riberry, Lilly Pilly
Availabilty: Out of Stock ENQUIRE NOW
The Riberry Lilly Pilly is a large, evergreen rainforest tree or tall shrub that grows anywhere from 2 - 10 metres depending on the setting, but can be pruned to size. Its' density of foliage and moderate height renders it as an effective windbreak or hedge, pruning maintaining your desired shape with ease. New growth is bright pink, maturing to a happy and bright green on the gently weeping branches.
White flowers appear during spring, followed by bright red berries that are edible and also highly attractive to birdlife. Low maintenance but great results is the key here, the Riberry requiring very little work, if any. It is also one of the most hardy syzygium varieties, and disease resistant.
Lightly frost tolerant & wind tolerant. Most well drained soils. Full sun or part shade.
This is a type of Australian "Bush Tucker". Syzygium australe varieties produce reddish coloured berries that can be eaten or cooked, and is typically made into jam or jelly.
